Errrr, honestly, i registered mine and taxed it without insurance, i was suprised. I initially sent the v55 with only the 55 quid, as i intended to sorn straight away. Mate of mine said hed done this. First application rejected as no tax fee, but, included an envelope to fella who dealt with it. Sent it back with 17 quid added...boom, registered!
I went back and checked all the correspondence from my last registration and it was the lack of the tax fee that was reason for last rejection.

I reckon if I'd have done what you did and just topped up the cheque by the tax it would have gone through instead of trying to tax it legitimately.
Did you have to do that?

Martin, go back on to your account, they will most likely have replied on there. Usually relpy the same day, very unusual if not,

im not really understanding what the fuss is regarding nova. My experience was, fill out on line page .....thats it. No certificate, maybe a reply saying nothing due, i wouldn't even wait, just carryon, it just buggers off into the ether. When the dvla bod runs thru the process, his computer tells him the vehicle has been novad, thats it.

When you submit your application online and it's successful you get the option to print out the page and "hey presto", there's your certificate.
Did you have to do that?
