Ah you're right I said on page 2 I set it to 18... I'll bypass the Augusto I think till I get it a lot closer than this.

Went out in the rain for half an hour as it was bugging me. The Carb wasn't tight on the manifold which wouldn't help to begin with.

Checked the jetting
Main 125
Pilot 53
Choke 70
Slide 40
Needle x2 p2

And saving the best for last...

Atomiser AV270! God knows what I was thinking there.

No wonder it was chucking petrol all over the place.

Have dropped it to an AV266 and tightened every thing properly and it's much cleaner. Still not right but heading in the right direction. Still won't tick over without 1/8 throttle so maybe need to try a slightly bigger pilot.

Have dropped the x2 needle into the top notch still with the AV266 and it sounds much cleaner and is actually ticking over!

The observant among you may notice we lost some body work. I decided to paint some of it while I had the chance.

Some time ago I did a vehicle search with the DVLA and stumped up the £17 or whatever it was to find all the old documents associated with my bike. Eventually they came up with a load of lousy photocopy of scans of documents going back to all but the original registration document.

It turns out my bike was originally one of the two tone GP150s in white / blue.

Since then I've had a bit of hankering to return it to that state, it's quite an unusual scheme on a GP and I like nothing better than the unusual. It also turns out that the blue used on the two tone GP is an unknown. So there's a mystery to pursue too. The colour is known as 'Ocean Blue' and is alleged to be similar to 'Blu Inghleterra - English Blue - Lechler 8031’. Sticky mentions this in his book but the colour is not quite right. I took a spare horncast and sprayed it up in 8031 but I think the real colour needs to be deeper.

There are people who claim to know the formula, made up of pigments that are no longer available. It's also alleged to be similar to RAL 5020, actually called 'Ocean Blue' but it's hard to judge that on the screen, I'll need to order some and see.

Having the thing in bits to some extent I began the move towards the white.

I bought a set of foot boards and legshields in white off eBay which didn't look too bad in the pics for an outlay of about £80 posted. I wasn't that bothered as these would be temporary just to get it built up till I could get the original bodywork done properly. my plan was to rattle can these.

I'd already done the mudguard, headset top and a serveta toolbox door in 8082 - Bianco Spino - Thorn White

But when the legshields and boards turned up they didn't match at all so they were going to need painted too.
