Not suprised. The cost on these things can get out of hand so fast it's crazy.

I did a semi custom resto of a tv175 (gt186) for a customer a few years back. All said and done $14k. And there was nothing fancy or over the top on the bike.

A bit over £8.5k at current exchange, maybe not that out of order if a full resto and other works. I wouldn't go anywhere near it but heard of worse.

That included the cost of the bike and shipping.

There were some missing parts also.

In the end it was a really nice 62 tv175

I've just had a series 2 eibar built.
No paint (original patina)
TS1 240
Cyclone 5 speed
Avanti head
Plus all top spec internals; no corners cut!
Super tourer franspeed
30mm delorto with LTH reed
LTH disc brake complete with master cylinder (anti dive)
PM forks (all built to suit Spanish turning mudguard
Jet fuel tank
TSR seat (to be changed!)
Tubeless rims
Scoot smart tyres
Plus all the etc etc!
All that @ just under 12k
When you say it quick it doesn't sound too bad!!
Seriously though, when you think about it, it really isn't too bad.
Also I forgot to add, that included the original scooter, although all the unused parts went to the builder.

And once it's fitted the whole scoot will be worth about £4000!

(Not that that would stop me if I had the money)
