There were 3 of us. The one leading is a well sorted long geared (4.6) TS duno what cc and the other was a well sorted TS230.

I'm not sure that you can get Air Stop tubes with the valve in the correct offset position?

One of the top Brummie dealers had a blow-out on an Airs Stop, which goes to show that they might not be quite as good as many people think.

I love the GT kit! (just so it qualifies for this thread).

Reason I brought up the tubes issue is that I am yet to go tubeless!!!!!Only because I have done all my scootering over the past 25 years and never really had any issues ( to be honest I have enough problems maintaining 5 or 6 scooters without maybe more hassle from tubeless wheels) on good rust free rims air stop tubes and good quality tyres at the right pressure to suit my riding style never had any issues. I,m quite keen on the sip stainless split rims mostly for their strength and durability this might be my next upgrade....................my last post of topic Eden apologies

No worries it's all good.

My thoughts on inner tubes and rims are that your either lucky when you get a blow out or your not. Like everyone, I've had my share of puntures and blowouts. So far I have been lucky only crashing once due to a blowout at speed two up. The year before I crashed I had a blow out two up at about the same speed and managed to keep the scooter right way up and that was a more sudden blow out than the one that had me off, I had changed the clutch arm and had it too far round on the splines also running a wide rim on the back. The clutch arm ripped the side wall out of the tyre. scary s**t.
But I have had many puntures that I've felt in time to get speed down and the scooter under control, the last one only a couple of months ago during the coast to coast


The way I look at it is that if your numbers up, its up and the type of rims or inner tube your running on will make little difference on a lambretta.

I've also once had a blowout on the front wheel when I was 18 riding a P200E now that is scary, to this day I have no idea how I didn't crash!

I've seen tubeless rims that leak air all the time.... cue Sid! Lol


If I thought about it too much it would stop me riding so it doesn't often cross my mind tbh.

Having a blowout at 75+ isn't much fun though!



Oh and Adam, So that's why Ganga was scarce for a while? Also negative feedback on GT230'S is welcome in this thread. If people are having a problem with one I want to know so I can work out why

Ive recently picked up a new GT186 to do a tune on for someone, be a while though as I have a few other motors in and out of the garage at the moment.

Just got back from a day trip to the Llandudno rally, we had some spare time so on the way back we got off the A roads in search of adventure
All we found was this!
only 280+ miles today!

A few hours before the video I posted in my last post this happened about 100 miles into the trip

testament to the virtues of cast iron!

My own fault for riding at over 80mph even though I knew I had an issue, I had just got sick of the two cars spoiling my ride.

It still makes me smile that a bloke from Stoke finds the Brummie accent funny, but then you have disowned your roots, something a Brummie wouldn't do!
