There is, I made a bracket to support the runner board. On to this I have Tig welded 2 thick washers for the shaft to run through.

Looks awesome. Will be mental. I'd be worried about that kickstart even with decomp. My brother had a kx500 back in the day, it was an absolute nightmare to kick off and start. It was also one of the scariest bikes I've ever ridden.

I'm in the process of stripping it down for powder coat and paint. There is a little powder coaters not far from my house. He seemed very keen to undertake the work. I suppose it makes a change from doing council signs and drain covers. He has no qualms with doing ally or filling and rubbing down where needed. I sent the exhaust of to Zircotec to get ceramic coated. I thought that ceramic might be a different alternative to say chrome or bbq paint. I had quotes of £200 ish to get chrome. But nothing had prepaired me for the phone call from Zircotec. To do it in black satin hot plasma sprayed ceramic they came back with £365 + vat + p+p gulp. So I have gone for their budget finish which came in at £200 ish, still a bit expensive but comes with a lifetime garantee. More soon.

Got the exhaust back in the week, Zircotec have done a real nice job. It has a slightly textured finish to it which will match the powder coated frame if I can find someone to do it.

A small update, I have got all the bits that the powder coater wanted to do back on Friday. The rest I will do myself now, I have made myself a small oven to do the baking. Also I bought a sand blaster and a powder coating set up.

Got my home made oven working and have sand blasted all the remaining parts ready to powdercoat today. I will post up some pictures later on today hopefully.

Diy powder coating went really well, Grit blasted all the parts, de-greased them in some acetone then hung them in the oven to pre warm and to out gas a little. On with the powder then back in the oven for 10 mins at 180'c. Got about 75 % of the parts done, easyer that I thought.
