Well the scoops are not too difficult to make really.... but are effectively custom made to fit in particular around the exhaust layout... which of course on a race bike is generally a one off bespoke affair.

what you need to have is the main body of the exhaust away from the head or else you are just scooping hot air !

and dont forget that what may be good for a race scoot is not always best for a road scoot....
for example....a hot summers day and your stuck in a traffic jam/slow moving traffic through a town or city....traffic light stops etc...
the potential for lack of cooling is there, unless of course you are always moving fast.

This afternoon saw the newly machined maghousing fitted, along with the ignition.

Image

The stator plate is now fitted with a three way connector for ease of fitting wiring.... so there is just one plug to connect to wiring to coil / Agusto box. Saves messing around with three seperate wires! Image

The flywheel is now fanless, so this coupled with the machining down of the mag housing allows more space for routing the exhaust to fit as much as possible under the left hand floorboard.

did you have to put the connector on after fitting to the mag or have you made the hole bigger

I used connectors like these when I fitted a 12v DC PODtronics reg/rec, only I fitted the plugs after fitting the stator and couldn't get the plugs through the sealing plates to remove the stator  So I guess yours are ok Paul as your not using the plates, eh?

Thats right mate - won't be using a standard sealing plate... however I will need to seal the hole to prevent water getting in at wet races...... but i have a cunning baldrick plan for that........! ;) ;)
