What I don't understand is how the shim affects the seal ?

This what you are referring too?

click the pic to see the ebay listing, £2.80 looks nice and cheap to me :) the cone alone is £13 from MB lol
Image

if so all the shim does is keep the cone off the bearing, they are very thin.
Does the one you received look like the one in the picture

This plate keeps the seal in place!

Donnie wrote:Not this part, this is supposed to be a 1mm spacer washer, therefore should be 1mm or near as damn it surely. Some parts like you say need a fettle granted, but to produce and sell something like this is frankly either stupid or lazy. It's akin to a 3.50 x 10 tyre being produced which actually turns out to be 3.50 x 9. :-/
Not quite, that would be a whole inch missing,
You were only mising aprox 0.8mm on your shim

Yep, this is what I got but as I say the shim was near paper thin as opposed to proper metal if you see what i mean.

Basically, the way it was stamped has left a sharp lip which is in contact with the rubber seal right on the outside edge, not much but enough that Id worry about it rubbing and fecking the seal again.

I bought a series 2 rear light unit from them to use on my s2.
It arrived on time etc. It seems OK but needed a bit of work. I need to find a gasket for it. It seems to be thin bodied.
I cannot criticise them though.
I received the business card as well. It made me think that it is an Indian ebayer. Either sending Indian parts to someone in England to ship on or using an English forwarding address.
I may be wrong however.

I bought some s2 side panel badges off dccheap and best...... Absolute garbage.
Looked like someone had coping sawed them out of a piece of flat alloy.
Cheap...so I got what I paid for........i won't buy off them again.
Managed to get some secondhand ones. No pins so need to work out how to fix them to the panels.

Ive had a couple of parts from them , as they are quite close to me .

I had a stator off them about 18 months ago .

I had two stators go in one year ( both on french motorways :( ) not a nice experience fitting the spare one on the hard shoulder :( The first one im fairly certain was from AF , the second may have been the willenhall one ? or even the AF one which i repaired (LT coil) ? i cant remember .....the point is, as far as i could tell they both looked the same ...id guess they are from the same manufacturer ? i except its a bit of a lottery with indian stators but the BGM ones are by no means fault free, Willenhall sell their stators at £30 , how much are bgm ones ? £80 ? rather buy two cheap ones and have a spare than spend £80 and be stuck on the hard shoulder when it also fails :(

I also bought a loom off them , this time i went to collect, and as someone said earlier , made from bits soldered/stuck together :(

The "Shop" is a factory unit half empty , some racking with parts on but lots of stuff just on the floor.

now how can i put this ???? ............there not scooterists ..........i guess they have family back home in India who send the stock over.........So i doubt if they can check the quality of the parts they recieve and send out , as i dont think they know much about what to look for !

Id use them again , but just like most of these opperation and most of the stuff from india, some things are good and some things are crap !

for example, switches ,light fittings and most elec parts are crap (exception of stators lol) gear box , engine cases, some engine internals etc ,ok.
