Not an expert on blasting but according to Jockeys Boxenstop who did the job blasting with walnut powder is less abrassive than bead or sandblasting but hardens the surface of the casings and is better to clean. The casings are smooth, not much difference from original condition but clean and without alloy corrosion.

Please, don`t get me wrong this is not a criticism, I think your project is good and I am very envious like a lot of others reading this thread I expect, just like to clear up a doubt in my mind, your rear light assy. is that a remade one as I thought the originals would not have had cross head screws, only saying that as I bought one the same for my GP, couldn`t make my mind up about it. they are very good though.Look forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks for your post TS1-200. The cross head screws on the rear lens are correct. The screws are repros from Scootopia.

But my headlight is not correct. Anyone has a genuine DL GP headlight unit for sale ?? or TRADE ??

Your headlight could be correct. Apparently there was two types of 'original', those with the dots between C.E.V. and those without dots but with the little planet and different 'innocenti' font. Yours looks the type without the planet but I wouldn't rush to change it

After cleaning I coated the shock wit Owatrol to conserve. Quite happy with the result (compare with pics before dismantling).

Parts are coming together nicely, looking forward to seeing more. Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between an original GP/DL rear shock and an SX shock?
Trev...This is a LIMS shock, not a SCM. Innocenti used on late GP/DL's production. Good to see its been used again :) The front shocks should be LIMS aswell.

Front shocks should have stamped - number 2, Patente(below it), LIMS oval logo, ITALY(capitals) and then 509 (think thats correct, from memory)

Thanks Preston, it seems like yonks since I've seen a post from you! Are you still on the lcgb board? Cheers. Trev. (edit - saw your old yellow GP200 in the flesh the other day, looked beautiful!)
