There was a very nice scooter (can't remember the make) in scootering a little while back where the guy had done a lot of this sort of thing really nicely - You really didn't notice what was different. It sounded like he worked in F1 (all the ducts were bespoke and carbon fibre 8-) )

Well on that score where`s Rossi46...Come on matey how do you differ heat and draw in cooler air on them rally cars..and yes I know there water cooled BUT you still must need to draw extra cooler air at the temps them beasts must run at..

RICSPEED wrote:you could force the air past the cowl vent causing a suction effect :?: ,they used this to cool the rotary norton race bikes
So all the cold air running under the scoot could be harnessed say from the back of the frame in a scoop effect..(like in an umbrella effect like slowing a drag bike) and pushed back in the under sidecans area to cool...ye like that but it would be ugly but...but running all day at speed is the key not winning a beauty contest...

no ,have a scoop under the leggies then force that air past the cut out in the exhaust side of the cowl would draw air through the cowl ,that way would work as normal in traffic

But how would you expell the hot air from the cylinder would the simple venting area from the flywheel cover keep up with this ric.?

air (rammed)then ducted to pass over the vent would suck air through ,its a bit like blowing over a bottle top

i understand what you are proposing here RIC..............and yes ...I think that would work......................but would involve some serious mods to cowelings etc...............
but would be i think worth the effort..............

again.............and back tracking a bit................its using the venturi effect.......yes......?
the faster air flow over an aperture..........drags out the hot air from the cylinder area...................................even though that may be forced air cooled to start with.................... :D

thanks a better explanation i think :D

So air ducted into the frame say over the cylinder would rule...struggling now the strongbows taking over :P
