All assembled but the backplate kept hitting very stiff spots. Replacing the new worm with a good old one has cured that.
Turning smoothly now and allen key in the end of the worm turns too.
I've been here before though. The proof of the pudding will be riding the scooter.
Not time for today so I'll let you know how I get on.
On my way into work this morning again reading high, then when I'm doing around 35 it started to bounce up to 50-60 then down to 40mph.
Officially sick to death of this nonsense now.
I dismantled the speedo last night and did the age old trick of moving the needle on the shaft back to the true reading position. That did bugger all, it still reads 10-15 MPH over depending on my speed. I gauging this against a cycle computer I have fitted which is set to the wheel circumference by the way.
Time for a SIP speedo with magnetic pick up I think.
