All very well but whos fitted them and used them through a standard headlight lens? and what were the results

I know what you're saying Col, the LED's can be bright but ineffective. I have used them at night and the do the job by flooding-lighting the whole space in front of you. There is not a beam, despite the appearance of the refector. The very nature of the light generated by an LED makes it difficult to focus. However, you have got to remember where we have come from. There was never enough light with a 35/35 incandescent lamp, and I didn't find a 55/60w halogen a very effective (especially in a GP headlight, which is a rubbish shape for a reflector).

MoT's have been interesting. As the beam is unfocused, I thought I might have problems, but the tester was so flabbergasted by the brightness of the lights on a Lambretta, he didn't check them with the beam-tester.

If you're still doing the C2C I'll maybe get a look at how they look in the dark?

Would it fit in a horn grill?

Don't forget that HID lights without an approved lens and reflector are illegal, specifically because they can blind oncoming traffic. Some LED's have the ability to output a fairly focused beam. I used to work as a stagehand at the time many of the shows had converted to LED overheads, but follow spots were still arc lights back then.

I use a halogen lamp with a standard (for Lambretta) Bosch fitment, 50/50 watt, very bright on a standard AF Ducati ignition system and LED tail lamp unit. Problem is I have mismatched GP top and bottoms so can't align the beam properly.

Eventually I got into my Man Cave. Anyway here is a photo of it fitted into the headset. . You will notice that the fixings do without the screw and square nut configeration on the original version. You just screw the supplied bolts through and it catches in the fixings which give you loads of options for adjustment. Very pleased with my purchase and it is very bright.

There has been some easement/clarification (or not) on the HID legal/illegal thing. But without a proper projector, you won't get a proper beam, which may mean a fail... any testers read, marked and inwardly digested all this ?
