You should get yourself an Ignitech ignition... that would really complete the picture

here is mine...
Image

It runs off a battery, you loop the pickup wires back to the unit and remove the source coil off the stator.

You can do custom maps... if you had a carb with a TPS you could even set up a 3d map

I havent dynoed mine yet, but a mate got 5hp on his standard TS1 just through bolting this on and setting it on a dyno. It runs a separate coil and shocked a friend standing near a steel bench!

I got mine from a local agent in New Zealand, but they are made in Czech republic

Check out http://www.ignitech.cz

I'm not sure who stocks them in the UK, but I'm sure you could either source it direct. If not I'll send you one from here

wiring was relatively simple but really you need to set it up on a dyno. I'm sure Al Diablo could do it

I'd be keen to see what impact it has on a well sorted bike

Let me know if you cant find one - I'll find out about sending one to you

Out of all the gadgets, the hydraulic clutch and the GPS speedo work really well.

The GPS speedo will find a satellite in about 45 seconds after turning the key (mine is DC converted, with a small battery), just enough time to put your gloves on and rev it a few times with the choke on, and then your away. Its 100% accurate and none of that lambretta wavy speedo needle. The only downside is that you can never bullsh*t about your top speed anymore. It also tells you 0-60 times (just hold the button down for 2 seconds and then start when you are ready) and 1/4 mile times too, in the same way. It records your top speed and even tells you which direction you are travelling in. The Speedhut website is great too. You get to design the face of the speedo, with fonts and a choice of colours.

The hydraulic clutch by Chris at CS engineering is great too. Its really smooth and lighter than it was before and has stopped any drag from the Readspeed 6 plate clutch. Gear changers are smoother too. Chris had to do a one-off for my Brembo master cylinder, because the piston is bigger that the normal ones he uses.

wax wrote:I have had a Dyno run at Diablo Moto since i last posted (Thanks Alan, Great work as always!) and got an MOT (and a new seat ;)). It did 34 BHP, which is slightly down on last time, but the jetting is much richer, so it should be more reliable now. I ordered one of those Readspeed 8 Stage CDI's and it ran for 60 seconds before giving up? So we had to settle for static timing in the end. Following the usual shake-down, when anything that is not Loc-Tighted just falls off, i finally got to have a blast around the country lanes. Grin factor 10! I also managed to take a few better pics......

Nice seat :D can i ask where you got it from and how much it was?is it a bolt down seat or hinge type?

Just be careful with the speedo as they're only water resistant and not water proof as my good friend's finding out what with all this bad weather.

Completely irrelevant but Jem had a LCGB Southend rally plaque stuck on the number plate area. Im sure i asked Sharkey about it and he said he took it off and binned it,im also sure he slapped a good few brushfulls of black paint all over it when he got it

Ello Dean. The seat is from AllStyle scooters, but i just had a butchers and they are no longer on the website. Its a bolt down jobby. Its a bit hard, to be fare, but style first, and all that! Maybe worth a call, if you still want one. It was £180.

BSSO78: I will ask sharkey when i see him about that plaque. He is an animal! Anyone who paints over a Maca paint job with spary cans, needs a check-up-from-the-neck-up, if you ask me!

P.s. Dean: what happened to the speedo that got water in it? Did it just fog up, or did it go pop? Was it the bevel that leaked of the button? Any help would be much appreciated.........
