no its full bodied all steel. just a properly tuned 240cc pushing a genuine 35bhp. i guess it would do low 90s flat out but i only thrash it as much as i need to. theres only drew2 who iv been able to have proper thrash with as yet.

i wonder if a five speed box would keep the bhp up at peak at a slightly higher speed thus keeping it above the drag line for another 5 - 6 mph?

would the 92 mph then go to 97 at 35bhp

then in theory another 3 - 4 bhp and the five speed box would be pushing toward 100 mph?

or am i just hoping
I'm thinking the same with an 5 speed box and an RB250. I can see the picture but not the pyhsics. I. can imagine it would would be a bit hairy on an RB250 approaching the ton with the revs up and the engine screaming :o
I reckon another 6-7bhp to punch up from 95 to 100. Or in other words 17% more power!

maybe then 90mph is more realistic to push for on a full bodied scoot

bet there wouldstill be a lot of pub braggers going home with their tail between their legs

There's were a few new P200e Vespas that would go over 80mph and they were box standard with a bolt on aftermarkit usually sito exhaust; never saw one going that fast they would just talk about them over a few pints at the rallys on the camp site,

I know we are talking real GPS speeds and full bodied scoots but this clip was many years ago and before the RB250 etc

Well this subject has brought up some interesting discussions and i have had a good chuckle
at some of the replies
I think this proves that a ton up road going scooter is a Mythical Beast or does any one know different??!
Or put their reputation on proving it !!!

If Ben Kemp on his RB250 demo scoot can manage just over 93 MPH with a GPS on the flat, I think he would hit the ton down hill.

Did it "rocket up to 93 mph"?
