New Avanti Clubman
no not every time but this is a captured market at present ,and everybody in scootering has asked for a discount at some time or another if you dont ask you dont get m8
live life your a long time dead
...looks good...clubmans that i've had remade by a well known tuner hug the casing much closer and sit higher, closer to runner board, giving more ground clearance...?

True, and I agree, however, it's always polite to ask, rather than demand, and also to say pleaseducksta wrote:no not every time but this is a captured market at present ,and everybody in scootering has asked for a discount at some time or another if you dont ask you dont get m8

"Ron, should I hope the new Superclubman will pull my 4,25 gearing on my RT 240?"
There is a possibility! to reiterate what I have said in the past, A Clubman can never be as good as the right expansion box, they are always a compromise between low down power or top end very rarely both, if ever.
Lets face it the shape of the box alone has no right to perform well. My last Clubman made around 20 BHP depending on who's dyno it went on and if the engine could produce it in the first place but the torque was at about 15
As far as I am concerned the limit of what a Clubman can produce BHP wise is around 20bhp again depending on the Dyno.
As these Clubmans are being made By Jim Lomas it has opened up some avenues as far as possible performance is concerned.
The group of modifications that are being carried out now will determine where the BHP will end up. It may be that we have to produce two Clubmans one for Torque and one for RPM. At the moment I cannot say except that the torque figures produced to date have never been achieved on a production Clubman before. Or it could be that we sacrifice a bit of both and just have a good all rounder.
Next week we will find out.
As for fitment, the photo's are of the first prototype, the whole box is being moved closer the the crankcase by some 15mm, so pull it apart when it is finished. Ground clearance wise, the "U" tube / header pipe is good, the box is standard.
And do not forget we are producing a mass market box to a "price", that does not mean low quality but if we start P*ssing around with less important issues or what could be argued as specials the price will go up and we need to get these out now, not next year.
Will it pull 4.25 gear ratio? I am changing my bike tomorrow to 4.6 ready to test some boxes next week.
We do have one box that could possibly do it but would hit a brick wall at 6.5 - 7k
Friday week we hope to have some figures for you.

what will the noise be like got a stage 4 af 175 at the moment with af clubman seems to be noisier than any of the other clubmans i see/hear.
The man who doesn't read has no advantage over the man who can't read
the last avanti was much quieter than my 48mm clubman
