The scoot was already painted that colour before i even found the gauges and fortunately they do have a wide choice of colours you can pick and the green seemed pretty much near enough..Result.

I have just been speaking to a friend of mine who was after the same speedo for his, and he asked them if it was waterproof, they told him that he would have to seal it all with silicone. I do like this idea though :D

If its waterproof/splash proof it should have a IP rating, typically anything greater than IP65 is water tight

Did you try the transponder inside the box? Car SatNav ones are fitted inside.
Speedhut offer a custom dialface service.
I was impressed at the first pics, the finished job is fabbo. Congratulations.
