Hi Rui,I won't be restoring it to standard colours, but thanks anyway ;-)

I guess the worst is over now that it's completely stripped, saying that, just waiting for the forks to be dipped to aid the stripping of them, so, apart from the forks, I guess the only way is up :?:

I'm gonna blast this lot and check condition of the frame internals prior to powder coating, the bodywork will then go to the panel beaters for welding, beating and finishing in primer, apart from the frame that'll be reaired, by welding the rust holes and toolbox opening bodge, and then that'll be powder coated and then back to the bodyshop for the loop to be finished and primed.

This is the legshield spare wheel carrier, is this a genuine Winter Model accessory or a common item? It bolts through the legshields :?

Removed all the crap covers and foam off the seat and although the original cover underneath is knackered, this looked in a nice reuseable condition...

Took all this lot for blasting...

...and got this back...

No big surprises under the paint, rear footboards are better than I thought, legshields as expected as was the frame loop, everything else was good and straight, particularly the side panels. The only casualty was the front mudguard, which although could be repaired, will require a lot of work, so a replacement will need to be found.

Forks and stand are now being chrome powdercoated and the bodywork is in the bodyshop. The frame loop to be plated, welded and pieced in before going back for powdercoating and then the frame loop will be prepped for paint.

I was curious of the small hole at the bottom inside edge of the left rear footboard, looks like it should be there, but why? It's not corrosion or drilled but looks stamped out in the pressing :?

Some new parts have been bought and some zinc plating done of all the small parts, nuts, linkages etc. and these are in for chrome plating, hopefully back next week.

Onwards and upwards now :anbrgin;

Thatas my hunch but it doesn't look like anything's been rubbing as there's no thinning of the metal, maybe a pressing defect, I'll get it filled in, cheers

Any chance that it's deliberately intended to route the air hose drain tube through rather than through the loop on the fan cowl?

i think he said elcewhere he had stuff zinc plated

the hole on the foot board may well have been there prior to the pressing as it would appear to have streched
