Ive had one of these speedos since my scoot went back on the road in feb, It does mist up when I take it out of the gare and the sun is shining, then after about ten minutes it clears up, I think there must be somewhere where a small bit of moisture gets in to it somehow?
Other than that its worked great, until my plug cap broke & I replaced it with a rubber waterproof ngk type, then the speedo was all over the place. I changed to a normal ngk cap and all is now fine in the speedo world again. I havent got a complaint about it really. The misting is not a big deal.
I run it off a koso ac/dc rectifier, no problems there either

I wonder if this is the reason why SIP adopted they're design using the speedo drive?
