Quick question - Am I right in thinking that the front dampers are fat Escorts that have had the top shroud cut off and then installed upside down?
If so, it does seem like a good way to take advantage of these fatter dampers without fouling the turning mudguard. If not, what are they?

No they are the thin type (Casa) with the shrouds cut off

Interesting. I'm curious because I thought dampers only worked the one way and wondered if the fact that they are upside down had a noticeable effect on the handling?
