So, you think I can devcon or Helicoil it myself in spite of the crack?

In Sweden an electrician takes round 60 to 100 £ just to look at your problem.

I wouldn't know were to send it!

Good idea Ricspeed but a couple of question arise there.

1. shipping cost
2. who are you and what welding referenses do you have?

just for a start :)

Thanks Ricspeed, will consider it.
I got a LI150 S3 block of for £25 yesterday, will inspect that one and see if it's usable, it's been sandblasted with the crank and front sprocket in.

exact my thought. I prefere a tv casing. mines fine except for one crack, to bad the weldning and drilling cost so much here.

i think your best bet would be to take ric up on his offer, surely the postage cant be that expensive,or is it the thought of ric not sending your case back!

He is so active around here that I think he is credible on sending it back.
Shipping from sweden to UK is 40£ so it ads up quickly.

The LI case was even in a worse condition than mine. Got another one though for 60£ so right now, if I wont find a good local aluminium welder that knows about welding engines I will restore my TV engine in the Li S2 case. From what I figure it should be a direct swap.

Btw, the large block / small block references, do they refer only to the cylinder head?

the li and tv cases are both compatible with parts, but if you are an 'anorack' i think you would be better suited to let ric get your case welded and back to original , ric is very active and i think he will return your engine without any problems!
small block is refering to 125/150/175 cylinder stud spacings, big block is 200cc cylinder stud spacings,
