Just took my franrace off to see where it was blowing from and found this  omfg

no wonder she nipped up, even more amazing that it hadn't lost more power than it had.

I bet you're fed up Fred Eden with the nip up,like you said tho you seemed to still have a fair bit of power being delivered from the motor despite the exhaust problem! What temps were you reading when it heat siezed on the rtse 1000?

nar nip ups are no problem as long as the rings dont smear over, was only reading 185 which is high ish but not as high as ive seen before, in the Swis alps at 10:30 pm one night in June I had it as high as 195 on the motorway with out it nipping up, problem here is that it was running slightly weaker due to the hole, I know it was weaker because it was ticking over 400 rpm higher than normal, running that much weaker meant the piston built up too much heat too fast before it could transfer that heat to the head and onto the gauge. It ran up to 75mph with no problem at times during the rest of the trip home. it nipped up about 100 miles from home so its done enough miles to run out any smeared aluminium on the rings.

Im fed up of breaking exhausts though, 2nd one in less than a week and both in different places!

2 more rallys to go this season before the engine gets a strip down. Northern Ireland and Brid.

Had a broken exhaust on the way back making the motor run weak, but ran into Martin on his targa so it all got a bit silly

The 'Tourist' is the one designed for the TS1, ALL are for 190+ deg exhaust though......Mathias's exhausts are very well made.

Some more footage from Woolacomb, not motorway miles for a change though, this is a small road in Devon which seemed to be up hill for miles and miles.
great road to ride, just wish it hadn't been the first time I had rode it. be fun if you knew it well!
