Eden,am I correct in saying that your set up has more exhaust timing and a 60mm crank,it definitely looks a bit faster on the vid.
cheers Jeff

yes ive tickled mine a little but then ive also tickled the other GT in the video, they both have the same blowdown. Hes not riding flat out but mine does have a bit more top end mainly due to its extra 35 cc's, the other one is running 58mm stroke 110 rod and 66mm bore, mine has a 60 stroke 107 rod and 70.5mm bore. crank in mine was just one I found lying around, it would benefit from a longer rod with out doubt!
The other one also has the bridge port so the port is much wider than mine, its also running on 4.8 final drive where as mines running on 4.7 which shows when we accelerate away from one of the roundabouts,..... thinking about it that bit of footage may not be in that video, I have 2 hours of footage from that ride back, I just grabbed a few cuts from different points along the way for that video as I keep getting told that my videos are too long
Other difference between the two are that mine has advance / retard and his is static at 16 degrees, my reed block is packed up by 5mm his is not, his uses the piston that comes with the kit, mine doesn't.
The kits are very versatile in that they go well with all sorts of setups, mine is in no way tuned to the full potential of the barrel but I don't intend to change it much other than one day stroking it to 62mm because currently it really is a dream to ride, having said that though I have made a small change on Sunday so I am still fecking about with it. I might even buy a second one to see how much power I could get out of one with out having to build reliability into it. I knew I would be doing more miles than usual this year so wanted to keep it quick but not on the edge in the way my cast 240 is.
the other red one in the video has only ever nipped up once when he opened it up a bit to soon while running it in. Mine hasn't nipped up once since the bore was redone a few days before the euro in June, since then its done over 4500 miles often being thrashed, so the preconception many people had about a cast iron barrel not being able to shed the heat when ridden hard for mile after mile has been proved incorrect.
Ive posted this in another thread............ I am willing to replicate the setup of my current GT setup for anyone who is interested as a complete package, I'll need something to do over the weekends once this years rally season ends next month lol. To date Ive tuned and built 6 GT big block based engines, non of those have been the same setup as mine though but all are going well except one which suffered from a catastrophic rod failure, that one is now getting redone as a 235 due to it needing a rebore after the rod left its mark on the bore

Been following this thread for a while and your motor definitely fulfills my idea of a fast tall/road motor and you have shown that a cast cylinder can be reliable in this set up.Ive got a rapido 225 and the set up has some similarities to yours, but I gotta say it isn't as consistently fast. The kheper made a noticeable diffence when I fitted it recently tho.

Did Woolacombe last weekend, another 420 miles covered.
Had a broken exhaust on the way back making the motor run weak, but ran into Martin on his targa so it all got a bit silly
