No we surmised that that was exactly teh case....the engine needed a bigger carb, i was just making the point that there were no flooding issues with the powerjet.....in fact, if anything.....an power jet will clean up your carburation.J1MS wrote:drunkmunkey6969 wrote:My TS1 runs a 38mm powejet.....it bumped up the power by 3 BHP over a Mikuni 35mm non-powerjet with no other changes. Did you try a 38mm non powerjet as well, to see if the power gain might have been because the engine was capable of taking a bigger carb and little to do with a powerjet....??
Anyone Else Using A Mikuni TMX30 On A TS1?

So, is it true to say that the powerjet only really comes into play in the last quarter throttle opening thus allowing you to lean out the mid-range and reduce bogging down a bit ?

No, apparently it'll come in at 10k rpm or flat out, but if your engine won't rev to that then it won't work. That's my findings with a Devtour pipe anywayCT. wrote:So, is it true to say that the powerjet only really comes into play in the last quarter throttle opening thus allowing you to lean out the mid-range and reduce bogging down a bit ?

Turn On, Tune In, Cop out!

I may be that not all carbs are the same though and it depends how high up the venturi the powerjet circuit is found. Will see how it goes, there's some running to do and the scooter although now done still needs registering, so no high revs for a while
