Hi Andy ~ Whichever Headlight connection block you fit this will help

First cut all the Nasty Bullet Connectors off going to the Headlight Block

Solder (Tin) all the Conductor Ends ~ Then Crimp on (Amp Type) Bullet Connectors

Use a Decent Crimper

As for the Headlight- Connector piece
Solder all underside connections ~ They are Generally Loose

Decide on a Good Earth Point ~ Preferably not the Rod Control Clamp Bolt

A Brass Nut and Bolt drilled somewhere is ideal

A Cheap Little Conversion

Bin the old type bulb and replace it with a H4 type holder ~ About a £1

These come with 3 wires already attached ~ Generally Red - Blue and White
Red and Blue correspond with the Main and Dip
The other wire Crimp and Solder to a Good Ring Terminal ~ Amp Typ

The Ring Terminal then fitted on the Brass Nut-Bolt and Washer

Check the Soldered Joints on the Dip-Horn Switch ~ Indian Soldering is like their Welding

That should be the end of your Headset Troubles ;)
