Going to Pauls in the morning early doors to pick the Scomadi up,hopefully running Ok,then a blast across the country to Scarboro and Whitby

I've met Frank many times and I like both him and what he's done in terms of the conversion side but I'm struggling with this one, don't really know why.
Combination of the colour/headset/indicators/mirror/seat - can't quite put my finger on it.

I have the same feeling. I have no problem the excellent engineering that's gone into it but the "stance" and proportion is all wrong. The rear center stand makes it look like an modern auto at rest, for me the classic Lambretta look is with a stand towards the front of the frame, the front wheel off the ground and the bars turned to one side. The bigger wheels and un-geometric (I can't think of a better word for this) alloy wheel design take enough of the essence away to make it look like something else.

IMHO proportion is the most important thing in vehicle design. Compare the Lotus Elan :-




with this Hyundi, which I read was supposed to be inspired by the Elan.



Notice how the size of the wheels is way off and the gap between the wheel arch and the top of the body is huge. It looks much too tall. Look back at the Elan and you see that the designer has really captured the essence of a sports car.

You've mentioned the stand makes it look like a modern auto at rest,guess what,it is a modern auto!!

What do you mean about the proprtion is wrong

I know there's going to be people for and against the Scomadi,but I took it to Whitby and Scarborougfh today and it got loads of interest and the majority of comments were favourable,most of the negative comments were people saying they wouldn't have an auto not about the design etc.
I said I'd never have an auto but the Scomadi changed my views(Well done to Frank and Paul)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion,and that's what I like about this site as it favours discussions of this nature.
