inboard disc caliper

ok, fitted today, bled brakes in around half an hour, there was air trapped in the hidden master, so had to lean scoot by 45 deg.

the caliper is well machined and the piston very tight in the bore, fitted with a vented disc and newfren sintered pads and a new mbd stainless circlip

initial test run i was very impressed, controlled sharp front disc brake.

they look like a scootrs caliper but with larger and solid stainless piston which has jap 30mm double piston seals, easily and cheaply bought.

i tried it against a new scootrs caliper but the seals were leaking so not a good comparison , the scootrs circlip is not very thick also and allows more play with the caliper.

i have a scootrs caliper in my gp with non sintered pads and non vented disc , i will do a swop the weekend and see if the new caliper improves things.

for those who want to keep an inboard disc i recommend this

def not andy horne as cs engineering made/make his . he did design it originaly tho

fitted both slaves one with newfren sintered pads and vented disc in original disc hub, the other with standard pads on non-vented discs, result............very impressed.... both with hidden master set up, no brake fade, both scoots brake well , far better than scootrs slaves

Hi.
How do you bleed the one that sell the guy from eBay? seems that there are not bleed nipple.

start by pushing out the piston a little, then fill system with fluid, then push piston back into caliper, this shoul dispel a lot of air at once because it is fitted with circlip you can do out of the hub, then tap tilt and shake and air bubbles will rise, can take an hour or so and quicker in a warm temp as brake fluid is thinner and bubbles rise quicker, good once set up, i also bled with hidden master detached so i could tilt to speed up air bubbles

;;;;;;;;;;also if you have the hidden grimeca rather than just opening and closing plunger, flick it sharply and it seems to bring up the air bubbles, persist and you will do it
