Isn't that where the chamfering of the pin and outside of the pin hole would aid things? Not having my tig unit set up yet(can't afford the water cooler and pedal yet

) I can't speak form a welders experience, but when I used to prep parts for welding at the Harley shop I worked at for a while, that is how they would have me prep things. The chamfer of the hole and the pin allows you to drop the weld in further, therefore no interference issue and better penetration :baddevil:
