I prefer not to be stranded in the arse end of nowhere because of a bad design. ;)

[quote="Scooterdude"]For imformation my Scootopia tap measures 27mm from the base of the threaded part to the end of the brass tube, this gives a reserve of 300 ml.

The original OMG tap measures 38mm giving a bit more, I'm not to sure what the new tap measures as I never bothered but I cut about an inch off the standard pipe it came with giving me 1 3/4 litres reserve (if your struggling to remove the filter it's a screw fit rather than a push fit).[/quote

Thanks for the info, but it would have been more accurate if you had measured each tap from where it meets the petrol tank when tightened up ie.the top of the tap.Instead of the base of the thread. Each tap may have slightly more or less thread than the other.

I did measure it from were it meets the petrol tank.

I've just ordered a rear exit O.M.G.fast flow tap,I dont feel that I can trust the reserve capacity on the Scootopia tap.

Confession time. I have a large Diablo tank on my TS1. I have the Scootopia tap on it.

For some reason whilst coming home from work this week, I didn't push the lever all the way down. Whilst going through the Mersey tunnel, up the hill, I spluttered to a stop.

The queue of cars behind were very patient as I pushed my pride and joy out of the tunnel (I didn't initially realise that all that had happened was that it had gone on to reserve with loads of petrol still in the tank).

:-(

I think the Scootopia fuel tap was designed for the longe range tank, they hold a lot more petrol on main and reserve. On a standard tank the reserve capacity is next to useless.
