Nic . . . are you saying that this is the first time SR have said that "this is the last batch that will ever be manufactured" a quick look through their adverts in Scootering in the past will soon answer that question.

These are the last batch of 200cc engine casings unless you know something different?
Marketing ploy, perhaps you could show me where I have used the phrase "this is the last batch that will ever be manufactured" where this has not been the truth.
I have just come back from Scooters India and there is a slim chance that they might re-make the casings again, off course depending on quantity.

I can't really say at this moment in time what quantity Scooters India are asking for, but it's in the thousands and a huge financial decision to make especially when you have to pay in advance and then have to wait a year before you receive the first batch.

Sounds expensive and very risky paul, How many would you expect to shift in a typical year trade and public..?SR_Lambretta wrote:I can't really say at this moment in time what quantity Scooters India are asking for, but it's in the thousands and a huge financial decision to make especially when you have to pay in advance and then have to wait a year before you receive the first batch.

I was wondering where everybody had disappeared too from the LCGB site.
The last batch of a 1000 arrived in November 2005, and we still have around 250 casings left, so you can see that it would take several years, well decades really to sell the quantity that Scooters India are asking for me to order.

I think the sales of 200 engine cases have been slow to sell, possibly owing to the ammount of complete 200 SIL engines being Imported, but they will soon dry up... If this is the end of production for 200 casings, then I think the 250 that you have left might just sell a little quicker now...SR_Lambretta wrote:I was wondering where everybody had disappeared too from the LCGB site.

What about a buying consortium? I don't know what your relationship is like with other dealers...but could it work? Maybe even other items, frames etc??
