Don't get too lost in the science though as interesting and important as it is or you'll find yourself trying to build the elusive "perpetual motion" engine lol.
Best components your budget can run to, a torque wrench, clean and well lubricated assembly. Sensible carb and exhaust and importantly...ignition timing. Oh and good 97 petrol.
