So the more the shocker is removed the more flexing and potential damage.
I always thought the rubber mounts were for absorbing vibration.
Again I have learnt something.

I collected my engine from AF rayspeed the other day.
I asked Scott about engine frame cones, as they have fitted silent block engine mounts.
He told me use the ones in the frame as long as they are the correct angle and not rocking.
I read stickys book and loomed at the pictures of frame cones. I reread what you guys have said.
I had to get some more bits from AF.
I asked Ben about the cones. I explained about what I had read on here and what I had seen in stickys book.
He said fit the normal frame cones as long as they are for the scooter and do not have movement. I asked him about the metal bars in the mount pulling in and placing the rubber under stress. He said they don't normally have any problems with that.
The only worry I have he said is if the engine touches the frame. He said I would soon know about that however.
I haven't tightened the frame bolts up yet. But feel non the wiser.

I'm using the upgraded MB silent blocks and ask d a question on their site about changing engine cones and the response was no need but the response also suggested that mine were same as the later GP cones which they are not.
For me I think that the simple answer is that Lambretta obviously changed the cones for some reason when going to the longer silent blocks so would make sense to change them .
