Lambretta Handling issues

You need to shop around for the biggest box a Lambretta chill pills you can afford. You will use them up very quickly. Drink also helps

Cringed a bit reading this back as I was very pissed off with the lammy and the strongbow and Stella was not helping.Cheers for the suggestions and I will keep them in mind.Engine mounts are first on my list though because the bike was doing the same on Dunlops and if there is no improvement I will put her away until the love returns. cheers for the info.

I had a Golden Special for a number of years, but had the same problem as you. It felt like it was trying to throw me off. Others who tried it felt the same. I did everything to cure it, new forks and MB internals. new engine mounts etc, but no change. In the end I sold it. I suspect that the frame may have been out of alignment, but from measurements, couldn't be too sure.

Just had the same issue today on a scoot ive just restored...new s83.dampers ect ect..what i did notice is my steering is a little on the tight side compared to my other scooter so i re-adjusted the bearings just a tad..this small amount cured the issue..maybe worth a try

I think they may be a bit tight as when the bearings were slack the handling was a bit shakey but its worse now. Cheers for the input. Got new silent blocks to fit this weekend along with new bearings and will see how it goes. As pointed out the tyres are probably an issue but one step at a time.

Do the Lambretta chill pills off ebay (500 pils for a tenner) actually work or am I better buying the box of 50 for a fiver from another online site?

H without being alarmist, have you checked the alignment??, someone I knew had steering problems similar to what you have described and after we ve gone through all the usual checks finally used a straight edge on the Front and Back wheel rims....surprise surprise wheels were out at the back with a gap towards the crankside. turned out to be the engine bolt mounting out the frame was out and twisted, reinforced with more welding and using offset cones to ensure trueness, hope this helps ..........

Been out on my bike since and im amazed how just adjusting the bearings fixed the issue..you do need the bars to fall to one side on the stand(if the wheel is off the floor) if touched from the central position...do this before you spend any money or make any work for yourself
