Adam, I'm fitting these behind my leg shield , they come 1 gallon through 5gallons
that should give me enough range :D + high octane fuel never goes bad
unlike fuel with ethanol in it which only has a shelf life of 6 months if your
lucky......Just ask all the boaters who run two stroke engines , I blew my
Boston whaler engine up and it melted all the hoses that supplied the gas
to the engine and I was out at sea , had to SOS to get towed, mental
Also I ran a Rapido with a glass fibre long range tank and the ethanol dissolve
the tank and gummed up the piston and barrel with black sticky residue which
in the end froze it solid , They stick any old s**t in the gas here . G.

Adam_Winstone wrote:^ G.... interesting if you only want to stay within range of that airfield fuel source, or if you buy yourself a bowser!

I note that a quick comment was made previously about food crops now being sacrificed for fuel crops and thought this worth highlighting again. I've read a number of reports about grain for fuel fetching a higher price than grain sold cheaply for food and how the net result is meeting bio fuel targets but leading to a drop in food stocks for famine hit areas and poorer nations, and it all stinks of political quick wins and big corporations making even bigger profits. Little do some of the bleeding heart liberals realise that their naïve green ideals are resulting in children starving! Road pollution is a tiny contributor in comparison to air traffic pollution but those same lobbyists can't get the quick wins by taking on the 'big boys', nor do they want to give up their sunshine breaks! Picking on the minority is far easier.

I don't like politics and rarely have a rant but the whole bio fuel debate jets under my skin... or perhaps that is just the lead replacements (lol).

Gets my goat too Adam

im just going to carry on doing what ive done for years....... that's carry a spare piston or two.

I cant see me riding around on a standard engine for a few years yet so ill just keep throwing the dice and changing pistons at the side of the road when im unlucky with the throws.

The growing fuel issues will just make Lambretta life even more interesting
