Shaun, the frame cutouts look like mine. Do you know the diameter of the rear light holes ?

Interesting about the rear light fixings. This is not the first Electronic to have the late frame support plate with the cut outs for the bigger fixings and rubber mounts (as found on late GP/DLs of all cc sizes), which seems to suggest that Innocenti either didn't care what they were mix and matching during late production or that they actually reverted to the earlier small hole / solid mount design towards the end of production. Otherwise, it may be that they had the cutout plate in stock whilst they were trying to use stock of the earlier loop and light unit mounting support (the plate with the holes in). Knowing your frame number might help us to determine which scenario is most likely.
Assessment of your frame number, with this anomaly, could also then she'd light on why SIL GPs went into production with the frame support plate having the cutouts (for late large hole rubber mounting) but the small holes in the frame, like your Innocenti example. I had initially thought that this was a SIL oversight, however, yours (and a few others) might suggest that they inherited this confusion of parts from Innocenti and simply continued with it.
Thanks for sharing the detail.
Adam

@Rosa Bianca sent you a PM
Sorry no update as I broke my arm when using my sons skateboard
I have all the parts for the engine rebuilt and will start with engine soon. Will get painted parts in march so watch this thread for updates.
Adam, the scooter was built in Januar 1971. I am really not sure what`s the reason for the Scootopia nuts not fitting. The hole diameter is 8mm. Maybe the nuts from Casa which RLC announced on facebook will fit. Have to check my `69 DL when in the workshop to see what is the diameter of the holes for rearlight before frame modification.

Checked hole diameter for rear light on my 69 DL today. 6 mm vs. 8 mm on 71 DL.

They are ground up fine, so not as harsh as it might first appear
