Do you know what gearbox and sprockets are in there at the mo ?
does sound like A GP150 ( ying, ying, ying , whur.) but before you spend all your money, it would be prudent to see whats in there.
back in early 80`s i bought a 200 engine from some one and it had a TV200 box in it with 17/ 46 sprockets !!

haha! Ying, Ying, Ying, Whur! That's about it! Nah, haven't a clue what's in there, but I have a feeling it is standard. I'm doing the clutch soon so will have a look.

Saw something similar advertised locally not too long ago. The guy was convinced it'd do about 130mph with that set up. And everyone that said otherwise was a w@nk3r - as he'd got twenty plus years of experience with Lambrettas.

Just seen an Indian Li150 complete gearbox at Beedspeed for £81.99 - will that do the job???

They're less than half that on ebay. I'd have thought scooter restorations would be cheaper than that, tbh.

I would go for the gp 200 box,the jump between 3rd and fourth is the closest of all the standard box's an d that's where you need to keep in the power band of the engine ie at the time your going at speed with the forces of nature against you.got one in my rapido 225 and I find it works great on dual carriageways etc.

Cheers Jeff

Indian GP 200 box in my Avanti with a Fransped Race. 46 crown and 19 (4: 8) front pulls great. I tried a 20 (4: 6) front and struggled with the hills, although it worked fine with the Franspeed Tour exhaust......maybe a different exhaust would also be a solution ?

I run an Indian GP 200 box in my Rapido as well and have no issues.

I've just paid £190 for my new exhaust so I'm not keen on changing it just yet - I'm rebuilding the engine over winter and that's when I'll be putting an expansion, ready for next year.

You need a top chain guide or tensioner, and you could possibly do away with the lower one although I still run one on mine.
