You'll struggle to find a UNI ready chromed, and forget helicoils, sounds a bit risky in a rear hub IMO.

Just get a 10x1 LH tap and tap them out to the correct common size. I'm sure any one of shops would have one. If they don't, the tap is cheap on eBay. I think I paid $15 for mine and have used it a lot more than I even thought I would. Every time I change the studs on a hub for the sip rims I always use the tap to chase the threads. Then sink the new studs in with some blue locktite.

Easy job, takes about 10 min. Just make sure the new threads are cut straight, use lots of cutting oil and take your time. You don't want a busted tap stuck in your chrome hub!

Although, I wouldn't waste any money on a tap to cut a thread on a RAMP hub, they're only use is a doorstop!

No, I did struggle to find it, had to wade through pages of the stuff. I just wanted to know how much they charge.

The quality chrome hub is a piece of jewelry... a bit pricey though, considering i just spent 200€ for the BGM flywheel (arrived yesterday...) @Corrado could you post a link of a powder coated in chrome effect? Who sells it? Price? How about a UNI hub in Silver? Wont be the perfect match but should be looking good... and be reliable.

@Grumpy. Yeah it's actually possible...the shop i buy tools sells only quality products , helicoil or similar quality (infact you wont find any LT helicoil in internet), he imports directly form Italy or Germany, i dont think he considered ebay stuff... maybe i got him worng when he said "this job cant be done", he meant can't be done with the stuff he sells (?)..
By the way, you said you do tap everytime you fit the Sil bolts onto your rims, does that mean that you always use Ramp hubs? Or Ramp is not the only brand using 9mm threads?

Forks and hub are chrome powdercoat, it's widely available now at powdercoaters

Looks nice but i have no idea where to buy a powder coated chrome look-a-like hub and the price of it so... at the moment i swapped the tyres, i fit the front Dunlop tyre (which luckily wasnt deformed but only deflated) in the rear Ramp hub, and the Sip tubeless in the front hub... certainly not the best but at least the scooter has 2 wheels now! Still looking for better solutions...

You buy a new rear hub and take it to your local powder coaters. Or send it to the place that Soulsurfer used.
