God knows,I just ride the things. I don't believe it's been messed with at all and guess it's how it left the factory,with whatever was nearest on the assembly line. Not quite as simple a change over as that as there are plenty of SX panel and mat (most commonally grey) examples around, incl. the USA NOS examples that I've posted pictures of previously (ochre with silver hubs, forks, drum front, etc.), although they did differ by having stalk indicators fitted.
