Doah.....Feel a bit of a numpty now.Got a tad confused with the name Pro....Don't know why,but thought that may have been PM. That sounds good at £150.May look at one of those for the GP build over the winter.Having said that,It's bizarre that many of us have several shocks lying around [I've got five]and still want a different onesoulsurfer wrote:Made by Protech, they've been around for years, at least 13 (see above) with Lambretta shocksspeedy wrote:Who makes the protech and how long has it been out?

R1 shock transformed mine, done a few now, paid anything from 5 quid to 30 quid from ebay, then its only £35ish for bushes and spring, money well spent.
heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it does fail, hit them with it!!!

I got mine from Chiggy but went for his 180lbs spring.

If Im not mistaken the standard Protech spring is a about 220lbs and a bit hard for some.

Nope, for whatever reason, this spring is not hard, it can be set to bounce all over the place if you so wish, or set for a really great ride on a firmer setting.molibdimum wrote:If Im not mistaken the standard Protech spring is a about 220lbs and a bit hard for some.

It's a beautiful shock.Ray was showing me one the other week and it looked lovely.British built and they have been developing it for a while.Bit pricey for me though, but I hope they turn out to be a good piece of kit.
