Monitoring an original pwk28 carb up with an onboard air-fuel-ratio gauge etc
The small pj"s ran dangerously lean when throttling right back
That's interesting, I'm running a BGM 30mm PWK on a TS1 at the moment and it does seem weak on the overrun, think I'll up the pilot.

Minority,
I took it off and replaced it with a reed valved RT, that Mark did for me. Have just completed Avignon on the new kit. The old RT will be getting the same treatment. I can run the reed valved one with an open carb with no spit back. And it gives me another 6-8 BHP.
Simon
Sounds sweet Simon, you've got to be happy with 20k, that's a fair few km!
Only managed about 2k before plating wore away on thrust faces
Was a good kit once set up 20 hp out of box, its going to be steel linered next time round to ensure no cylinder distortion

MB recommended me against using the PJ at all and supplied my PWK plugged...

I took it by pj's that he meant Pilot Jets as opposed to Power Jets or Pyjammas

Me too, power jet's (such as it is on a PWK) blocked off anyway.

LOL
Considering how hard the Pilot Jet was to set up (still slightly rich on 35) I wish that that was what was recommended against but no, as stated above, it was the Power Jet

That's exactly what I thought. They say great minds think alike, so you must be a man of great intellect.
