Only problem I had was when Taffspeed did me a Stage 5 200 top end for my Jet200 about 25 years ago. Told me point blank it would snap the standard sx/li crank taper. They were right, flywheel snapped clean off.

A friends Royspeed tuned SX200 (very late model) snapped its crank way back around 1971 and I had a TV200 at that time which twisted its crank. Shearing woodruff keys used to be a common occurence and we put it down to poor tapers but in reality it probably had more to do with not having proper tools. I didn't own a socket set (nor anyone I knew) until I was well into my 20's and used to get by with box spanners.
My view is that the TV crank would PROBABLY be ok if you were just using it for commuting and not thrashing it round the M25 on a regular basis. But, if the rod was to snap which is probably the most likely scenario then you will have a ruined cylinder and a big hole in the crancase

Seems to be various advice whether the Li taper is strong enough or not. Has anyone had or had a friend who's crank broke at the taper?
is`nt that why Innocenti changed the taper ..............it seem mad to spend loads on kitting your scoot to scrimp on the crank ,it`s the most important part..... the heart of your engine imho
