do you intend to fit an adaptor plate or weld up ?? how does the j motor compare stroke wise to a smallie motor ??
will be going with inlet to the rear, the reason being if the the cylinder was reversed this would restrict the exhaust fitment

i have altered the inlet manifold to fit and now gives good clearance.

the starstream crank is 48mm stroke/95mm rod. ideal set up for the parmakit is 51mm stroke/105mm rod. drt do a rod with the same dimensions as the starstream baring the big end pin which is 20mm and of course rod length (105mm), starstream being 18mm big end pin. drt also do an eccentric pin to go with the 105mm rod which gives you + or - 2mm , so with the ends ground down to 18mm and fitted in the starstream crank this would give me 50mm stroke/ 105mm rod (drt rod + eccentric pin) this gets me right in the ball park.

a packer plate of 9mm to 10mm (alowing for base gasket of 1/2 to 1 mm) ,pre drilled with the parma stud spacing and transfers to match with a small spigot to go from the starstream case to the parma cylinder will be welded to the case. no point welding the case . just weld the packer to the case, even if i want to reverse the cylinder after the packer is welded on i still can as the stud and transfers are symetrical through 180deg

what do you think 8-)

only trouble is the size of the inlet as i think they use v force type reed set up (they look twice as big as the parmakit), oh and the 25+ hp out of the box strain on the rest of the motor. the parmakit i am using is around 14 to 16 hp out of the box with the right carb and exhaust, will have a look at the cylinder to see if there is any more to be gained  . i think if i can get the top end onto the case with the crank and ignition sorted my main concern will be the 3 plate clutch, which i am looking at now. i think if i can get some thin corks and steels i can get a series 3 4 plate in there( series 3/gp are slightly bigger) by skimming a couple of mill off the innerside of the crown wheel. so clutch, crank, and packer plate are next on the menu

clutch now sorted to take a series 3/ gp clutch 8-) , just need some thin plates
