You're right, I stand corrected. Since the odds of sucking a small bird into your engine is small, it's not worth the drop in performance to run an air filter.

I know someone who demolished a ts1 when the flat clip holding the gp plastic panel embelisher got sucked into an open mouth carb ,its not a small bird but what are the chances.....filter for me

We spent 4 hours in a remote lane in France last year dismantling and reassembling mate's TS1 ,turned out it had sucked in one of those small road stones that cover resurfaced roads into the open carb . It had full panel work too

yup its things like that which worried me.

my carpark at home is tarmaced and covered in a thin layer of tiny white stones, then theres the amount of sand that blows around as Im by the beach, so if I have to lose some power then so be it

I just cant afford to lose any money!

a good compromise between the two options (open or filter) is to fit a fine mesh gauze wire like the household seive type .
this keeps up air flow and performance whilst stopping bigger objects from entering the carb

Just wondering if breath sweet are still the best remote filters available today? Anyone got one for sale?
