Actually that may only be the case with a scootrs version. Post a picture of the caliper mounting plate. Has the plate got anything stamped on it? On a Sterling it'll normally have SPAQ stamped on it in which case it may still need the thin nut on the disc side. Scootrs plate is different around the groove for the stub on the drum link, it has a secondary cut which allows the area around the stub on the link to sit deeper [so the thin nut isn't required] this allows the hub to sit more central. Without the "extra cut" around the groove you may still need to use the thin nut. Scootrs only has one nut [for the drum side] that's about 8mm thick. Sterling will have the "thin" nut, approx 3mm and a 5mm, approx, on the drum side.
This may not always have been the case but has been for at least the last couple of years. Before that the scootrs version may not have had the secondary cut on the groove but I can't remember the 'nut' situation then.

I'm sure the plate has Scootrs stamped into it but I'm not sure of the make of the actual hub body. I'll check the plate tomorrow but is there any way of Id'ing the hub body. It looks to be quite a good casting not up to innocenti standards but not that bad. The problem is that the brake is made up of different parts so I may have stuff that doesn't match. I didn't realize at the time that there were different manufacturers making them. I'll look at the parts tomorrow and try and post pics of the separate bits. Thanks
