wasnt the record breaking white sprinter that did about 130mph on an indian cast iron barrell?

wonder where they would be able to record the speed with enough of a run up

i would go there to watch :)

The world land speed record for a 50cc bike is 131.545 MPH. Yep, fifty cubic centimeters and one hundred and thirty one point five four five miles per hour. It's really about how much money you have to spend.

I don't think it's possible on a standard bodied scooter unless it's pushing out 40bhp+

However it's very possible with less bhp in a proper streamliner - question is, when does a scooter stop being a scooter?

When it sounds like a crosser stuck in second gear.

i had a straghtliners timing ticket for 103mph thru the quarter on a 70cc fizzy but every other ticket that day shows 74 to 76 mph now id love to say i cracked 100 on a fizzy but chose to rip it up as my gearing, sprint software and morals decided against it
the same day none of my tickets had my name on them but did have my race number which was another mistake the organisers made.
my own view is that top speed run of 130+ was optimistic, sorry Keith if that offends as i know its an amazing scooter thats got some incredible times and development put into it,probably the best out there on the grounds of its all done on a cast iron barrell

heres a 35bhp ts1 dyno graph thats ran thru the drag race software
it shows on the lower grey line resistance kicking in at 92mph which ties in with sprint results regularly achieved on full bodied scoots

if i add a fairing this is the result which would be similar to lowering the bike/running vega legshields etc as many group 6

interesting to have the drag factor on the dyno results - brings it into reality.

i wonder if a five speed box would keep the bhp up at peak at a slightly higher speed thus keeping it above the drag line for another 5 - 6 mph?

would the 92 mph then go to 97 at 35bhp

then in theory another 3 - 4 bhp and the five speed box would be pushing toward 100 mph?

or am i just hoping

And back then when it got the official record of 12.71 or whatever it was,it probably had no dyno work so I'm the same as you on that one.

I'm thinking the same with an 5 speed box and an RB250. I can see the picture but not the pyhsics. I. can imagine it would would be a bit hairy on an RB250 approaching the ton with the revs up and the engine screaming :o
