The Sausage rebuild DVD is 400 minutes run time, thats taking an engine stripping it and putting it back together. The cleaning of the casing and sourcing the bits is not included. I reckon 10 hours aint too bad for an estimate. Buy the DVD and see how to do it yourself also arm yourself with Stickys book. If it goes wrong you will understand why these guys charge £36 an hour. The DVD is entertaining as well - He was a top bloke and will be sorely missed.

For the learning and personal satisfaction try a self build, for a piece of mind no hassle package ask on here about who people rate and make a decision who to use. Satisfied customers and word of mouth recommends are the best advertisement in my opinion.

I'm sure i've seen (on e-bay !!) engine re-builds for £90ish excluding parts...

It'd be no good me paying someone to build my engine, I have it apart or alter something at least once a week. I luv changing stuff to see what the differences are, might seem odd to some but it's half the reason I got back in to scooters, I'd be bored with it if it ran perfect all the time!

And you paid all that money for this kind of service? If I was you I would be knocking on his door the very same day I'd notticed. Also, I might not be a pro, but I have built well over 20 engines in my short lived life as a Lambretta mechanic and I must say I would be ashamed to charge anyone for that. An engine must be presentable if not fully operational with all its elements in full working order, no more no less.
