a full measure of what you have now to establish where its lacking, port areas/timings and comp ratio would be needed to work from to decide on a way forward then port cylinder/mod head to new spec

Yep, get that, I meant tuners....any ideas who? 2 I have spoken too about it both said ditch on cost implications vs just buying a Muggy/Imola kit.

Hello Darrel, I haven't had the pleasure but I know that you are a very knowledgeable gent and don't have the habit of beatin' round the bush with tech talk. Too many good refferences back you as well. So, here is my question for you. Why spending soo much money on such a discreete kit as the casa, when spending about 1/3 on an SR kit you can achieve the same results (or even better). My take is, I have installed both. The casa was straight off the box. Not much to do to it as is, since it comes out so clean. Of the SR kits I have installed three. They all come rough as shark's teeth, however, the three kits that I have installed where proffessionally cleaned. One of them is on my race engine and is tuned by Harry Barlow. What a bomb of an engine! The other two where tuned for touring by Guy Topper, one of them I sold and the other one is now on one of my Lambrettas and I am very happy with it.
So, wouldn't you say that the SR with a Suzuki piston is a more interesting and more economic option?

Best regards,

Jaime

hi jaimie
i agree
the sr kit is not too bad and ive tuned one with good results if u look in the dyno graph posting area but the sr plus ts piston plus rebore plus tune still adds up as i found on the one i did

the casa wasnt a recommendation to buy ,its a kit that stoneisland owns already and was considering buying a replacement for his casa with a 4/500 pounds kit so i suggested a tune would be a cheaper option for him

what ill add is that whether u have a std barrell/a muggy/a casa/a gt /an sr/or a cheap ally kit then all of them can run the same port areas / timings / comp ratios and will all produce comparable results
what makes them different is the quality of components, its the quality of the core components that makes a kit good long term, durable and without issues ,also the piston an rings in use dictate what can be done
the casa made by gilardoni is like the ts1 of the bunch quality wise

I've been in contact with those crazy Gori guys, their 200cc small block kit offers a bolt on 13bhp, what would a bolt on Muggy or GT offer?

16hp on mine. And enough torque to pull 4.6 gearing. Enough power to pull 7,000 revs in top with a box pipe. Likely more with a proper expansion and fancy ignition.

There are more powerful ones around. Diablo has done some good ones, I hear.

I've an imola186 with 30mil delly and jl3 which im still running in but it's putting 1 big smile on my face compared to my 175kit in my other lammie. It just feels so much quicker compared to the 175 which is no slouch when sitting on the likes of the motorways

Ummmmm...what if it goes BANG lol???!!?

You mean the kit or the whole bike????

I'd worked on the costing of the imola kit...say £500 or the Muggy circa £400...ok maybe cost of 28/30mm and pipe but offset that with selling the Casa, 26mm and ancillotti either in bits or as a package. Casa kit has got 1000 miles on it and have been offered £250 for the kit on its own.

Big question is how far, within the realms of reliability, could the Casa go too and at what cost.

no win no fee

id port the cylinder/piston and mod the head and if not happy with the results id not charge you and buy the kit back for £250 then you can proceed with plan b ,id need the parts only
if happy then my fees are very reasonabe,if set up properly then theres no reason at all why it wouldnt be as reliable as a standard kit.
