best winter tire ??

Looks good, but the problem, as ever with old bike/scooter stuff is the ability to power them. 35w is quite a current draw for a lammy.
Once everyone has something like RichT's aprilla alternator conversion then heated hand grips, vests and seats become thinkable, but maybe not all at the same time.
There are small alternators (30-40 amps) from mini tractors and so on that folk graft on to old loop frame guzzi's or assorted britbikes.
With a bit of engineering, could you use a variation of the S-type rev counter drive direct off the crank to power one of those?

belt staight off the fly wheel would be better

Sure, you could choose depending which side you have your carb.
Once you have sorted an ignition trigger, a less overhung flywheel/fan could be devised.
