I think your right there soulsurfer

Just another thought on cost..........some people will spend £6500 on a nice SX200 and love to keep it original and i dont blame them one bit but as much as i love the beautful SX i couldn't warrant spending £6500 on one.

Could i spend £2500 on a very quick, torquey engine that puts a massive grin on my face without worrying about it going pop while retaining the beautiful lines of a Lambretta....................oh yes indeedy :baddevil:

Just goes to show the diversity is strong in the scene and thats got to be a good thing :)

I'm not convinced that anything which is even vaguely based on a Lambretta engine will ever be "pop" free. Its a 50 year old design for a 9 horse power shopping moped.

Jimmy Winters was riding it, he's had it for a while....hand built by Charlie himself. It has a nice close ratio gearbox in it too, another CE item.....gotta say, mint engine.

Although he has trouble keeping up with his sons (James Chrighton) TS1.......James won the coast-2-coast (do you actually win that?) this year. Jimmy gets off the line quick, loads of pull on that SM.....up to about 50mph, then James and his pal Philly Hindle fly by.

saw the SM at spain charlie was on his thay both went very well and after seeing the race i would say that is a good set up to go for if you want a fast reliable road bike both were hammered in spain with no problems.

I have been offered rich T new cad drawn engin which i am pondering over
I run rich T 7plate clutch which is great
and also his new ignition and loom with a zeeltronic progamable cdi which i can run 2 curves switch 1 to other .
But this is all set up on a mug 240 built by Guy Topper.

So do i go for a SM or New Rich T engin
The rich T engin would be water cooled

Why wouldn't they? Those lads have covered thousands of miles on their TS1s.....
