It's a memory that's stuck with me...when you set off again down Skipton road in the P1ssing rain.

I was there mate, said hello and good luck etc when you set off again...think it was Jez & Tim both brothers who were chatting most to you.

Were your ears burning after mate...we were chatting for a while about your journey home across the moors by yourself in the sh1tty weather, very bleak up there in places like!

Remember your bike on the way home too. We passed each other a few times when we kept stopping to dry out, wait for the vans, regroup, fill up, etc haha.

Think I was on Castrol 60's replica if you can remember what was in the carpark.

It was a mad ride back yep. I'd had an open face jet helmet and goggles...couldn't see a great deal and the rain was like needles.

f@@k me. Incredible. You have no idea how much I wanted to go in the pub and put my feet up with a pint and a pie, but I would have never left!

That Castrol Rep was my choice out of the lot mate, really. It was without rear runners, is that right? Slight cream colour with the racing green panels? You got any pics?

Bleak in places, but what a run. That's why I really like the ride to Kelso from Stranraer. Fantastic scenery.

I'm humbled you remembered me.

Not too far off now. Holland is less than 2 weeks away...need to get MOT, any little problems, adjustments to timing, some mileage on it, etc done before

Cheers. Had decluttered it Andy and it did look nice, shame about scratches to panel...other than that it's all sound still.

I found some of my old Scarborough pictures the other day. Including these from the Pub/garage @ Harrogate on the sunday ride back to Belfast...

Cheers Bilko, I never took many pics when I had the LI, it's nice to have a few more.

That's a lot a drier than I remember too....bone dry infact. I just recall a very heroic high speed journey home braving the elements and fighting against the lashing rain haha. Was always a good pub story that ride home.
