Looks to me as if the tail end of the frame has been pushed in. That would make the handle sit up.

whats happened/happening to the fresco? If its for sale I'll take it off you. Price pending of course.

yeh, I looked at that, but its ok on one side. However, I've been out tonight and looked again -- I placed the side panels next to each other and the one on that side appeared to be a bit longer. So a bit of careful pushing and pulling and it appears to be a closer match, and the handle is pointing forward better now.

Looking at the photo again I can see why you suggested that now -- its just the angle of the photo. Looking square on it looks ok.

I'm afraid what's left of it is destined for the bin - it pretty much fell apart when I took it off.

There'll be an Imola going on, but I stopped at this point because it dawned on me I'd need a wide small end bearing, which I need to get, amongst a few other odds and sods.

So -- hoping to make better progress this year....

How on earth do you get the casings so Bl@@dy clean!!!!!!????

It all went in to CamLam for a few repairs. mainly thread inserts and I asked them to get it vapour blasted. Not sure who they used but considering the state it was in when I pulled it apart I was well pleased. I then sprayed them with engine lacquer.

Still progressing at a snail's pace this, but I now have some shiny bits to play with

The fun bit starts here... I think!

Two steps forward, one step back....

So managed to get a few bits back on the frame -- new stainless stand went on without too much hassle, the frame steering brg cup, the top sleeve and the chrome ring was easier than I was expecting, and I had a few nervous moments trying to hammer rivets on the tool box lid, but all good fun.



Some parts issues though

I moved on to build the forks, which was quite worrying with the new paint and the compressor -- lots of masking and insulation tape helped. Fixed in the last buffer then I noticed that the links were in different positions -- :wtf:

I couldn't work out why this would be -- I checked the fork depths, spring lengths, everything pretty much. Nothing to it but to take it all apart again -- I then noticed that the bottom buffers, which had been bought as a kit were different heights, and also the rubber was harder on one than the other. Quick call into CamLam and they posted out another pair to me -- forks now reassembled and all looking good, although the link bolt kit I bought had a full rather than half bolt - that needs correcting.



So this weekend I looked at fitting the forks into the frame -- making good progress, all feeling good, I give the locking nut a final tighten and then a ping and the forks move fully to one side - panic!

Take it all apart again and this little bugger falls out :flaming:



So I now need to ponder how to remedy this, which ultimately means further delay. Oh well - keep going!



ps anyone know how to fix the photo links in the earlier part of his thread?
