When you look most pipes (The new ones anyway) peak the same in mid and high graphs bar our race pipe that didn't really work and needs a good handful of port duration but it is called a Race for a reason! (designed to peak at 9k thats how mismatched to the barrel it is-reckon needs another 10-15 deg!)
To be honest it was difficult to separate some of the mid and high rpm ones which were quite similar, but we had to in order to cut the number of curves per graph into a readable number. If we'd have put all the higher revving ones together thne you'd have 10 curves on one graph and not been able to make head nor tail of it.
Adam - if you want any graphs for your own use with specific pipes on then just email me and I'll run them off for you.

i think the carb was a little small for my liking on the test scoot but id like to hear from someone who has one on a road bike
very interesting after all the "plugging" on here for other pipes
got a 30mm PHBH carb on my touring tune ts1 230cc - does everything a larger carb will/can with better low down response.
quote from a website "On a 23bhp Taffspeed road tuned motor the Dynojet power curves are identical using 30-34mm carburettors. They've come to the conclusion that on TS1 motors of 25bhp (i.e. fast road tunes with engines that produce peak power below 8,000rpm) a carb size of 28 or 30mm is all that is required for maximum power. The improvement smaller carbs give to idle, pick-up & low-speed light throttle engine response is most noticeable."

To be fair Mick, that's why there is a 30mm carb on this engine.
A 34-35mm is just a waste of petrol for this state of tune an a lot of people seem to be moving that way. The Germans may be getting max performance on their scooters with 38mm carbs but these are mostly for sprinting - not for going places affordably.

ive just ridden a TS1 with the new NK pipe on, pulled like a train. it"s in a series two, and the lad who owns it is a Big lad ,24 stone! he"s well happy with it. as for the small carb thing , yeah, theres a couple of our lads "down sizing" on the carb front, what with the price of petrol and that.

Any idea what gearing he's using?
